I am having a Hungry Caterpillar day (the kind where you keep wandering in and out the kitchen, snack on stuff, but are STILL HUNGRY!).

This is being slightly hampered by the fact that we’re down to the last rotting banana and random stuff in the fridge that looks as if it might walk out by itself soon, as next week’s grocery shopping is due to be delivered this evening.

I have also completely run out of Plumathon remains now (well, except for the stuff that still has another 7 weeks to mature, and I’m not convinced that partaking of the plum liqueur in the middle of the day is really going to help anything). This is a shame, as a piece of plum cake would go down a treat right now.

I might have to resort to raiding the kids’ Milky Way stash.

I hate days like that. For me they invariably end with a deep sense of guilt.

How far away from you is a big grocery store? I know you have your groceries delivered, I am just curious.

Clair: yes, normally I would feel guilt, but I have stepped up the exercise I’ve been doing since the kids are back at school, so I think it’s mainly my body telling me that it needs a higher calorie intake again. I’m going with the flow :)

Tami: about 5 minute walk away, but I get deliveries from another supermarket chain and get top-ups from the local one. My main reasons for getting it delivered is a) I can budget far better this way and b) it saves time.

You see…I just don’t have those good habits to balance out the bad ones. I really should have, I’ve got that walk to prepare for!

Someone give me a kick up the arse/other motivational method of choice.

You get it delivered? You lucky thing! We’re far too good about it all and drag our butts there every Thursday to get the deed done ;)

[...] hungry. Really hungry. Hungry-caterpillar hungry. I’d almost forgotten what the sensation felt [...]
