A Tribute of Plasticine

19th January 2009 · 4 Comments

RIP Tony Hart. You were a big part of my and many others’ childhoods.

I found this lovely tribute on YouTube which is a lovely collection of clips from his shows:

YouTube won’t let me embed any of the morph clips such as Morph and the Toll Bridge, but you should go and see it anyway as it’s a great blast from the past.

Good Night, Tony Hart. Sleep Tight.

I particularly remember Vision On. As a child who didn’t hear too well it was wonderful visual stimulus. Even though there are lots of different programmes now that encourage children to create it’s definitely Tony Hart who got the ball rolling.

This very talented guy entertained three generations of children with his inventive art and his enthusiasm for his work always shone through. A thoroughly decent man and a part of my youth.

    RIP.

I had a picture shown on the gallery on Take Hart when I was 7 years old. Delighted is not the word for it. I also had one shown on Glen Michael’s Cavalcade but that will mean nothing to anyone south of the border! :)

Oh I loved his programmes and would stop all parental activities like cooking so that I could watch too. I also used lots of his ideas in my teaching – wonderful man!!
