First Day At School

3rd September 2008 · 5 Comments

Yes, this is the obligatory “my youngest started school today” blog post, so if the thought of reading yet another one makes you want to hang yourself or me (you know who you are!) then feel free to skip this.

For the minority who were curious as to how we got on (and the majority who really couldn’t give a toss either way but are currently wasting time before their next coffee break), I’d like to reassure you that I had a lovely, quiet, relaxing and peaceful afternoon.

Oh. And Li’l Bhaji got on alright too.

The end.

(No, really… he came home covered in pavement chalk from an art activity, I’m sure he had a fab time even if all he could be bothered to tell me is that he played with Lego).

(Edit: of course, the thought occurs that it might not have been an art activity and he may have mugged the teacher for her chalk. Then again, they have interactive white boards these days, so I think we’re safe).

There is nothing quite like sidewalk chalk for keeping kids happy :)

Yes, I love it – we have a bucket of it tucked away somewhere, must get it out again before the weather gets too cold (hah…)

I love pavement chalk and kids. At least it comes off easily. Unlike the paint ….

Well my two are now in P3 and they still tell me that all they do at school is play! It is when you talk to the other mothers you piece together what they might actually have done.

Did Akra jr. play the knowledgable big brother showing little brother the ropes?

Not so much really – but he’s in Keystage 2 now, so they don’t mix as much (different playgrounds and different lunchtimes). He is much more confident though, simply because the school is a very familiar place having done the walk to and from twice a day with me for the last 3 years!
