There would be a new podcast episode for you to download today…
… if it hadn’t been so lovely and sunny and I decided to sit outside with a book instead.
It was a good book, if that’s any consolation?

Starting WoW is a fairly new podcast, designed to take you through the early days of learning to play World of Warcraft (for those who have been living in a cave these last few years, WoW is a massive multi-player online role-playing game or MMORPG).
It’s hosted by Cian Mac Mahon, a podcaster based in Dublin, Ireland. He talks about many aspects of the game experienced by a newbie player such as character classes, common jargon, and what to look for in a guild, just to name a few recent topics.
One of the most helpful episodes for me, was a discussion on plugins/addons for WoW where he recommended two in particular (QuestHelper and Auctioneer) – neither of which I would do without now.
If you’re not a brand new player of WoW, it’s probably still worth listening to as Cian promises to cover material suitable for more experienced players as the series continues. The episodes are short and accessible (around 10 minutes long) so won’t interrupt your play time too much either.

… Akra Jr is 7 years old today. My first baby. That can’t be right, can it?!
I celebrated by chucking away all the bibs, toddler cutlery and cups that have sat in a drawer – given that Li’l Bhaji is 4 in a week and hasn’t used any of them for the last 2 years, it seems a bit daft to still have them.
I shall commiserate with cake later on.

What an awesome idea – rather than lug a phrasebook around with you on holiday, have it stored on your iPod instead.

As I think I’ve mentioned before, the kids have really got into Star Wars lately. Li’l Bhaji and I were talking about all the characters on the walk back from nursery this afternoon.
He was pretending he had a lightsaber and was making the appropriate whummmm whummmm noises. I asked him who he was.
Apparently, he was his FAVOURITE character.
You know, Mummy.

My promised rant about artificial regionalization and DRM.
During which, I had the beginnings of a throat infection so I apologise if this is a bit croakier than normal.
Am now going to go make myself a nice soothing latte as a reward. And eat chocolate – everyone knows that chocolate is superb for throat infections…

These modern henhouses are really tempting me into getting some chickens. Pricey, but really nicely thought out. Some great information on the site too.

Not totally useful, but brilliantly implemented and fun to watch – see tweets as they happen in Twitter’s World Timeline mapped onto a 3D globe.

Stumbled on this again while looking for a way to explain to someone what the difference between “theory” and “hypothesis” was. It’s still excellent and should be required reading in schools, imo.
