I’m glad your voice has returned! I hope your tennis arm is better soon also.
I know what you mean about it taking so much time to do these things. No one understands how long it takes to do a YouTube video.

Popping in to say hello, lovely to hear your voice :)

Sounding good. I think you sound more confident each time. I can’t get used to your pronunciation of your name though – for some daft reason I had it in my head as Pe-VAH-ri (German influence I suppose).

The way you described how you thought you hurt your arm sounded exactly like me when I try to figure out how I have managed to hurt myself. As you may know I’m very clumsy but after so many years of accepting it I have stopped paying attention at how I hurt myself. Then I discover the bruises or the scratches or, you know, I can’t move my limbs the way I could the day before.
Like Jane said, you sound more confident each time and I love hearing your voice. Your accent is clear and I don’t see why it would be necessary to provide a transcript for it. Unless any of your readers are hearing impaired.
By the way, I am not drunk! And I still love you! Turns out it was not just the booze talking! :D

Tami: I can imagine! I expect it’ll become quicker, but at the moment it takes me around 2 hours I think from planning right through to it being available on iTunes. Doesn’t sound *that* long maybe, but in terms of available free time that’s actually 2-3 days work for me!
Alina: thank you :)
Jane: hehe… Pe-VAH-ri sounds like someone who has an evil plot to take over the WORLD… hmm, has potential…
Colin: yes, I’ve long since given up worrying about bruises :)
The transcript requests I think spring from two issues:
– those that are only visiting the blog for the written word and aren’t really interested in podcasts at all. At the same time, worried that they’re missing something so want the same content in written form.
- those who are concerned that I’m not getting the benefits of google searchability on what I’m saying.
As for the first, I’ve made them short deliberately to make them more accessible to those who don’t have a shed load of time.
They’re also not compulsory – I have no problem with anyone thinking “oh, audio post… will skip that” just as I’m sure many people come to this blog and others and only skim read unless they’re particularly interested in a certain entry.
I’m sure there may well be a time where I have listeners that just aren’t interested in visiting the website, too. And that’s fine.
As for googlability – well that has its negatives as well as its positives as I mentioned in the podcast :) There should be enough wordage in the show notes (i.e. the blog post with the audio post embedded) for Google not to get completely lost.
Woo hoo at not the booze talking :) But never let it be said that I’m not inclusive – drunk or sober, you’re always welcome here ;)
