You know how, if you’re putting your child in time out, they’re supposed to spend one minute for each year of their life in their room? So a three year old will get three minutes time out for bad behaviour?
Well, I’m 33… the kids are driving me nuts… and I really fancy finishing off my book in a quiet room – can I put myself in Time Out please?!

Can you finish the book in 33 minutes?
Perhaps it would be easier to lace their food with some sort of sedative? :->

Good luck to you! Summer holidays started here on Friday, this is officially day one (we are forgetting the weekend and getting stuck in that mayhem on Saturday!)
I was writing my cv the other day and decided to include being a stay-at-home-mum on my list of previous employment. I wonder if I should add Entertainer Extraordinaire amongst the description! Yes, time out would be lovely and when is it you get to become EE full-time for both of them, I would appreciate 3 minutes to myself.
I once put youngest hobbit in time out and completely forgot! It was only when I wondered why he was being so quiet I realised he had been stuck in the corner for well over the 5 minutes. Shame on me!

If we get to have time-out I’m looking forward to being 900 :)

DG: oh yes :) Only two chapters left to go… *bites nails* And if I thought I could get them to EAT food I prepared I might even give your sedative idea a go ;)
Paula: my god, that’s an early start to the summer holidays – especially with the current weather you must be going SPARE. Do they go back very early where you are then? Glad to see you also have a rather “loose” definition of time – our “five minutes” seem to get more and more handwavy by the day…
zip: so what’s your secret for longetivity then? ;) And why 900 minutes?

Zip obviously thinks he will turn into Dr Who ir Yoda. :)
I would have 40 minutes of time out. Hmm, my problem with that is that I would fall asleep. ;o)

would rather ‘bump’ into Dr Who than turn into him ;)
900 minutes? …I’m a slow reader.

Hi Pewari, try it! Tell them first that you are having angry (or whatever you prefer) thoughts and you are not feeling as happy as you would wish, so you feel you ought to sit on the time-out chair. Ask them to stay in the same room to keep an eye on you – then watch their reactions!

I’m turning 33 this week – does that mean I now get an extra minute of time out? Yeah!!
