This was me for the last couple of days…

That is why I am unsure about whether to get it or not. It scares me. BTW, I found a quote that was Akra to a tee: Programmers don’t byte, they just nibble a bit.

You do realise that Vista is effectively ‘go slower stripes’, right?

Still, you could always sell one of the kids and buy Akra a MacBook Pro. :p

    Dom,

An iMac is the most likely purchase for me.

I am so over Vista, my husband has been beta testing (?) or whatever you call it Vista for the past 6 months. He even put it on my laptop so he could fiddle about with 2 machines! He is a complete geek and all I have heard is Vista, Vista, Vista!

He even gets invited to these geekfest things where he can go share his geekness with a whole room full of them, and some bodies from Microsoft. And his friends are fellow geeks, one even owns a geek shop!

    Vista, hasta la.

For all my whining, I do actually like Vista a lot. It’s just setting up that’s a complete pain with it’s constant “Are you REALLY sure” dialogue boxes and having to hack the registry to get older software to work. It’s very pretty and hopefully all the “are you sure”s will make it more secure – we’ll see.

Alley Katt: I probably wouldn’t have bothered installing it without it being a new machine tbh. Reinstalls are never fun at the best of times, are they? Like that quote :)

Dom: ah, but net effect of the computer is definitely go faster stripes! Much superior graphics card, processor and memory on this computer compared to my old laptop. I used the One Stop Noise Removal on PSPX earlier – normally I go away and make a cup of tea and it’s STILL processing. Was done in seconds, I was in awe.

MissL: sorry :) Move along to the snow…

Paula: *still sniggering over “Vista, hasta la”*

[...] Akra has resurrected my old Vista computer. Now, long term readers will remember that I had one or two or more issues with Vista. In fact, they were the major reason that I threw in the towel and now [...]
