The mop broke.
Went to buy a new one.
They only had the mop head type.
So had to get a wringer too.
You can’t buy a wringer without buying a bucket.
Bought one.
On the way home I thought, “oh sod this, not cleaning the kitchen floor now – it can wait until next floor cleaning day” (Tuesday – yes, I’m scummy).
Then realised that meant I could have waited until the weekend to go shopping and gone somewhere with more choice.
Bugger.
Get home.
Go into the kitchen.
The ten-year-old dishwasher has leaked ALL OVER THE FLOOR.
Oh well, at least I got to use my new mop.
Dishwasher recommendations, anyone?

Have you ever read the children’s book: If You Give A Mouse A Cookie?
One thing always leads to another and then you’re back at the beginning in the end.
I wish you luck with the dishwasher.

I recommend an Akra. They make really good dish washers.

I have just done my blog for the day, and checked yours to see how your life was going, and saw this. Weird considering the fact that I had just wrote “everything happens for a reason”.
That is obviously why you went out to buy the mop and bucket today. As for dishwashers – me and my wife take turns being the dishwasher. Haven’t trained the kids in it yet.

For what it’s worth – we have an Ariston and it has lasted 4 years so far …

Can only advise you on which one NOT to get Pewari, and that would be a Whirlpool. Seriously not impressed with ours…

Tami – haven’t read that, but it sounds fun :)
Washing our own dishes just isn’t an option – dishwashers are one of those things that are a luxury, until you own one, and then they’re essential!
Akra managed to fix ours in the end, but given its age we’re still doing dishwasher research so we know which one to get when it fails again (can then go to the relevant website and select next day delivery!)
Noted about Ariston and Whirlpool (valb: funnily enough, we won’t touch Hotpoint ever again after our experiences with our previous washing machine). What we can’t understand though is why dishwashers need about 20 programmes and fancy features now?! We just want to load it in a fairly decent layout, shut the door, press one button and it wash the dishes for us. We’ll pay a bit extra if it unloads on our behalf at the end…
