… for my American readers.
If you have turkey on Thanksgiving – what do you eat on Christmas Day? Do you have another turkey? Or is your traditional Christmas Day meal something completely different?
Just curious…

Apparently ham is common on Christmas. Which is just crazy, but everyone seems to be sick of Turkey by then.

We enjoy turkey and country ham on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Around February, I begin to miss the turkey and dressing and make it all over again. Baked turkey is a healthy choice :)

I think that the traditional Christmas dinner would be Goose. Although, I do think it’s more common these days for people to have a turkey, or ham. This year we’ll be having a goose, I suggest others join us. Really, come by — we’ll eat a bird together.

That would make sense :)
I just wondered because I know by Boxing Day I never want to see another turkey again (and just get around to the idea by the following Christmas!)… wondered if by having it at Thanksgiving as well you ended up with turkey overload…

We do the turkey and ham thing but it’s at my sister-in-law’s and she’s SO stingy with leftovers that I end up cooking a mini meal for us the next day. It’s all about the leftovers in my house!

We usually eat turkey at both Thanksgiving and Christmas! My family isn’t too adventurous.

We have turkey and ham at Thanksgiving. One of my brothers is allergic to all poultry.
For Christmas, we have a crown roast of beef, yorkshire pudding, salads of various types, veg and a humongous number of desserts.
This following our traditional Christmas breakfast of waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, sausage, bacon, juice and loads of coffee.
Whew.
Then we start talking in earnest about what to eat on New Year’s Day.
We are a foodie family.

Well, the way *my* family does it….sometimes we’ll do turkey for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, but not often….usually we’ll do a standing rib for Christmas. (I’ll bet we have turkey this xmas, tho….dad will be done with his treatments and he’ll be ready to EAT!)

I definitely know people that do Turkey for both *shiver*
Turkey is absolutely necessary for Thanksgiving and most people refuse to be budged from it. For Christmas, we’d generally have ham or some sort of really extravagant beef roast (i.e. huge, on the bone, much too expensive to ever have as a normal dinner).
Interesting reading the comments (after writing the above), I didn’t know we were so traditional :)
