Never EVER pop out to the garage to look for “just one thing” amongst the pile of boxes that are still unpacked as there’s no home for them in the new house.
I went out for ONE exercise video.
“Ooo… there’s Akra Jr’s birthplate. We can put it up next to the birthplate we just got given for Li’l Bhaji”
“THAT’S where my umbrella got to”
“Akra Jr will want his velcro calendar out, take that in while you’re here”
“BABY EINSTEIN VIDEOS! Li’l Bhaji is about the right age for them now!”
“Oh look, here’s a big batch of music CDs we forgot about and haven’t ripped up onto the computer yet. I knew that Queen CD was somewhere around here…”
“Fantastic, I fancied playing this computer game the other day…”
Great. More things to find homes for!

I had a similar thing when I was younger. I was encouraged to put old toys and cuddly toys into the loft to make room in my bedroom. However when I went and put the things into the loft I would always find things that I’d been forced to put up there during the previous clear out. The temptaion was always too much and I would bring them back down again filling the space I’d just made. It was like having a batch of new toys!

That’s why I stay out of the attic ;)

It’s neat seeing things that you haven’t seen in a while. It sounds like you have a lot of cool stuff!

Pewari,
You’ve got nothing on me.
We finally, finally, after almost a year here in Israel bought two computer desks. The boxes full of books that we were using had to be emptied (to heavy
to carry upstairs we have to do them in shifts.)
No shelf space, and of course no one wants to bring stacksfull of books up to the attic.
Besides, we keep finding things to read.
That means they are all scattered through my living room in various piles…..
