Tired Doesn’t Cover It

17th May 2004 · 7 Comments

I’m exhausted.

Personal places of my body are hurting way beyond how much any place should hurt.

I’ve managed to pull my hip out of joint somehow and have stabbing pains when I stand up.

I’ve pulled a muscle in my shoulder, no idea how. Hours of trying to rock a stubborn sleeper to sleep *may* have something to do with it, however.

I went out this morning for the first time since the birth, then managed to miss a midwife visit by 10 minutes.

One of the rear passenger doors on the Micra has somehow got jammed and now won’t close – got to try and sort that out with the garage in the next few days, as if we haven’t got enough to do.

Other than that, I’m fine, thanks for asking.

Awww, honey, hope you’re feeling better soon- in fact you know you will. See ye midwife about the hip- that’s not right, although it could be the old symphisus thingummy pulling itself back to together. Maybe you might consider a session at an osteopath’s for you and Bahji?

Also: remember you’re still awash with relaxin- on no account do any heavy lifting or garage sorting yet!

    Also: homeopathic Arnica for bruising.

However much we protest that giving birth isn’t an illness, it is a battering! Take care of yourself, remember to rest/read whilst feeding and keep your feet up then. (It restores that feeling of being a human being again!)

Sending cyber energy… this too shall pass (that’s what I keep telling myself, anyway!)

Apparently if you put a savoy cabbage leaf down your bra then it can soothe aching boobs – a friend of mine tried it and swears by it. Let me know if it works!

Osteopath doesn’t sound a bad idea actually. Have spoken to my midwife today and she’s said to see if it improves by itself over a few days, if not they can get me in to see a physio – so it’s nice that it’s being taken seriously. Already on the arnica – love the stuff :)

I’ve heard of the cabbage leaf thing before, tangerinecath – although I worry about if you forget and leave them in a bit long they might start to smell ;) You can get some gel pack things from mothercare you can either heat up or cool to ease sore boobs – they were very good last time round, have managed to avoid needing them this time round … at least so far.
