Well, I’m a bit surprised as I was absolutely convinced this one was going to be a girl!! Help, I’m going to be outnumbered in a household of males!
Actually, I’m very pleased. I already have a wonderful little boy – how could I fail to be excited that I’m going to have another amazing little boy? Plus, think of the savings with the hand-me-down clothing *grin*.
I do need a favour from you all though. I need a pseudonym for this little mite. Obviously the pseudonym Akra Jr is taken. Akra and I are busy deciding on a real life name for Baby X, so I’ve decided to take pseudonym suggestions from the floor…
… over to you!

Um, aren’t you already outnumbered by the males in your household? :-) Congrats on finding out that it’s a boy though. How exciting!!
We too are struggling to come up with real names for B?hnchen (our “little bean”) and usually end up in fits of giggles at the ancient German ones suggested in the name book (Friedholm, Humfried, Hildegard, Brunhilde…). With 11 weeks to go we should probably start concentrating a bit harder. So that’s my excuse for not suggesting a pseudonym…

Oh shush, I meant if he was going to be a girl then it would have evened the score ;)
Love the “little bean” nickname… and you just *know* you want to call the little mite Hildegard *giggle* ;)
(waits for a fit of irritated comments from people called Hildegard…)

My ideal would be to have another two boys and as my chances of having another set of twins are above 95% that may happen some time in the future.
In my household even the cat is male! Having been brought up with female relatives having more female relatives I can say it is great fun being the only girl!
How did you come across the pseudonyms for yourself, hubby and No 1 son? Could you work out something from that or perhaps a play on the number 2 or the word second. Hubby called the twins when they were born One of Two and Two of Two. He has since stopped watching Star Trek Voyager…

Oh, is that what that name meant! I never understood that!
My suggestion: why not go with a character from a movie? Like a Disney movie, or something?

Yes, I can see being the only girl can have definite advantages ;) For one, I’ll never have to lift a powerdrill in my life… (sorry, terribly sexist comment there… bad girl, Pewari!)
My pseudonym was a randomly generated name from an online game, Akra’s is a scramble of his initials with an extra letter to make it pronouncable. Akra Jr … well… I was unimaginative, what can I say :)
Love the Voyager reference :)

What about Puri? Your name always reminds me of naan bread, and akra is only one letter different from okra (also an Indian dish) so it just sort of completes the set!
OK maybe not, but you see where I’m going with it…

Forgot to mention, I also have 2 sons with two and a bit years between them. All I will say is – good luck to you (you’ll need it!)
Mine are now 6 and 4 and it’s still hard work (but I love them to bits and they’re great kids really)

I’ve had girls and boys; the boys were always more loving. Much nicer to have around.
As for pseudonyms..I haven’t got a clue. I always just called my bump The Bump :)

How about renaming Akra Jr ‘Akra Junior Senior’ and the new baby ‘Akra Junior Junior’… OK, maybe not…

How about “Nimbus”?? Akra always makes me think of acroNYM, and, well, the ultrasound pic does look quite cloudy too, doesn’t it?!!
Or perhaps I should just have another cup of coffee…

Congrats on another son! I had two sons before my daughter. TWO big brothers to protect her :) I’m drawing a blank on names for the Blog, though. Sorry — but I just love sonogram pics. My daughter’s was obviously printed with cheap materials…it faded!!! Grrrr

That’s tough… I guess it can’t really be a real name (like Tim or Timmy) because all of you have imaginary names, so that would look funny. Perhaps you could scramble and add something to your initials? Or a mix between your real initials and Pewari Naan? Hey, “Apna” means something like “one’s own” in Hindi. Well, good luck thinking of something!

Hey, Munna, of course! It means little boy, you could short it to Moon! :)

Thanks for all the suggestions… still nothing *quite* right yet… at this rate he’ll be referred to as Bhaji :)
Angela: funnily enough loads of people have told me their sonograph photos faded over time – it’s one of the reasons we scanned all ours in as soon as we got them so we had at least some sort of record “just in case”.
15 Daisy // 23rd Jan 2004 at 11:38 pm
eh? what’s wrong with Baji? That’s what I was going to suggest.
*wanders off looking disgruntled…*
16 Daisy // 23rd Jan 2004 at 11:39 pm
erm, that’ll be Bhaji with an aitch. Scusi.

Far, far too preoccupied trying to think of a real name as I’ve just 7 weeks to my due date! (at present it is called ‘it’, ‘this baby’ or ‘your child’ depending on my mood…!)
I like Bhaji too though.

Akio – Japanese, meaning bright boy…
or
Amar – Hindu, meaning foreve…
