Readers’ Annoyance Warning: this is a really petty whinge, especially after yesterday’s post.
Some thieving bastard stole our milk from our doorstep this morning. It’s not the monetary value (it’s hardly a major theft) it’s the irritant factor. Try coping with a screaming toddler having a complete melt down because there is no milk available for breakfast, then explaining he’s going to have to wait even longer until you’ve got dressed, walked to Tescos and come back with some new pints. Not a good start to the morning.
And yes, we know it was theft and not delivery incompetence because the empties were taken away and I found this fortnight’s bill drifting half way down the footpath.
Bastards.
Thinking of leaving a pint of milk on the doorstep laced with a diuretic… good plan?

It’s a superb idea, but probably illegal. Unfortunately.
No, it’s not pathetic at all! It’s a major disruption to your day.

Definitely a good idea. It’s just a shame you probably wouldn’t see the results!
My parents had trouble with people nicking their milk some years ago. They just got the milkman to start leaving it inside the porch where it couldn’t be seen by any lurking thieves.
But I like your idea better.

Maybe it was pinched by a famished tramp, or a neglected schoolchild. Maybe that bottle of milk saved someone from a day’s starvation. Maybe however, some lazy bastard across the street had run out and couldn’t be bothered to go to the shop…
I’m not helping much am I?

I knew something pesky like the law would stand in my way…
Wish we had a porch to leave it in :( Thinking of getting one of those lockable boxes, but can’t help thinking the price will be overkill.
e: I love the romantic ideas of where the milk was, but I suspect the lazy bastard profile myself … or the “walking past/opportunity theft” scenario.

The simple things in life like having ones milk delivered to the door is what I miss living in the States.
