Pewari's Prattle: Writer, Fighter, Geek

Beginnings

1st April 2003 · 4 Comments

April the First probably isn’t the most auspicious day to start a brand new weblog. I realise that many people will think that I’m joking (in fact, I’m not entirely sure that I’m serious myself – I guess time will tell).

Like thousands of other people across webland, I’ve fancied starting a weblog for a while now, but only held back due to not really having a lot to say for myself. I’ve since realised that hasn’t stopped many other people so the final barrier has been lifted.

Oh and my friend Mitchell started a weblog today as well and I got jealous…

Anyway, I think my son had me fooled this morning. He’s just coming up to 2 years old and you’ll probably end up hearing a lot about him as he’s the person I spend the most time with (funnily enough, being a stay-at-home mother for my sins).

He was playing in the kitchen while waiting for breakfast to be served, when suddenly he pointed under the dresser and said “Mouse!”

I panicked and started looking around, “where?!”

“Hiding,” he replied.

Now, my son has a habit of pointing out things that aren’t around rather often (giraffes, kangaroos, tractors) and when asked to point them out will almost always say that they’re hiding. However, we do have a mouse in the house at the moment (heard it chewing on some wood the other night) so I’m understandably a bit paranoid.

Think I’ve been had.
